Summer Semester 2021: Condensed Matter Physics Master Seminar (08.128.80109 )

Theme: "Dynamics of emergent quasiparticle and collective excitations in condensed matter"

Functional properties of condensed matter systems are governed by the dynamics of low-energy quasiparticle and collective excitations which are a result of interactions in many-particle systems. Examples of such emergent excitations are phonons, magnons, plasmons, polarons, Skyrmions, soft modes…, just to mention a few. In this seminar we will address a few selected examples of emergent quasiparticles and collective modes, focusing on tracking their dynamics.
